Last night, I was that guy at the party with the lampshade on his head'. Well..it was more like silly hats and ski goggles, and at one point I think I had one of those snake-light things wrapped around my neck and I was interrogating party goers.
In a week I leave for Canada. I'll be in a French imersion program for 5 weeks. Maby then I'll be able to understand what Stereolab sings about. They are very strict in this program and don't allow you to listen to any English music, read any English books, and I'm guessing surf English websites...which includes this one.
I'm also having to move out of my house very soon. Right now I live in a beautiful 'rural but in the middle of town' place. Development has won out and the property was sold to some big furniture company. This bums me out. On the good side, I'll be closer to school in my new place and closer to my new job. Yes...I got a new job. When I come back from Canada I'll be working at Louisiana Accelerator Center, which is the particle accelerator associated with my school's physics department. I'm kinda pumped about that. I come back from abroad August 10th and 3 days later is my birthday. A few days after that school starts and I have to begin my senior research. My life in the early part of this summer was all about doing absolutely nothing and loving it. Now it seems that the pace of things will be speeding up considerably.
More and more of my friends move away every day. With each person leaving, my ties to this place get weaker and weaker. Without them, Lafayette isn't all that.
