So I finally went to the neurologist to find out what's been going on with my thumbs and knees. He thinks I have this form of Muscular Dystrophy. It's a muscle disease you're born with.(a la Jerry Lewis telethon) It's been getting very difficult for me to do things with my left hand, like play guitar, or tighten my belt, or cut my fingernails. It seems to be getting worse. I couldn't turn the lock on my front door last night. I'm very concerned that I won't be able to play music anymore. Even if it can be stopped from getting worse, in it's present form it keeps me from being able to play guitar well. I'm in the dark because the doctor didn't tell me much. There are some blood tests I have to do and I have an appointment with him in a month to get a proper diagnosis. The problem is that we have two shows in that time and I don't know if I'll be able to play. I'm wondering if my life is going to take a drastic turn in a new direction, and I'm also wondering if I'm going to die. I plan on not thinking about this too much till I get a final diagnosis. In the meantime I'm stuck being less than functional.
